Michael has garnered experience in both the public and private sectors, providing his expertise to select law firms, multinational corporations, judicial center judges, and government agencies. His deep knowledge of all aspects of Puerto Rican Tax Incentives is rooted in his time in the legal department of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce, specifically in the Office of Incentives.

Jose Manuel Prieto
Senior Member
Attorney and notary public admitted before the Puerto Rico Supreme Court, U.S. District Court (PR), and First Circuit Court of Appeals. Holding a Juris Doctor Cum Laude and a Biology/Pre-Med undergraduate degree, I bring nearly 20 years of experience in bankruptcy law, civil litigation, and corporate legal services.
I currently manage a private practice focused on Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 cases, with deep expertise in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations for both debtors and creditors. My background includes in-house counsel at Grupo HIMA San Pablo and Staff Attorney to the Chapter 12 and 13 Trustee for PR and the U.S. Virgin Islands. I'm an active member of the American Bankruptcy Bar Association and NACBA.
